Agar culture plate – “Australian Lions Mane” – Hericium coralloides
Cloned from a wild fruit body of an Australian Hericium found in the Otway National Park Victoria Australia. An identification completed by the University of Tasmania determined it to be Hericium coralloides.
Lion’s mane is world-renowned for their potential health benefits. In particular, their neurological benefits.
Characteristics: Large round clusters, white in colour with long teeth/spines, resembling hair-like texture. When grown in high CO2 it grows very coral-like, in low CO2 it forms nice round fruits like a lions mane.
Temperature Range: 18-24°C
Substrate: Hardwood logs or sawdust
