Agar culture plate – “Australian Reishi” – Ganoderma steyaertanum

This strain is a clone of a wild Ganoderma, endemic to Northern Australia.

Reishi mushroom is one of the most famous medicinal mushrooms. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries.

Grows great on many substrates. Sterilized sawdust and wheat bran work the best.

Characteristics: Deep yellow and red banded antlers and pileus, white pores. Fruiting bodies are unpalatable, but when prepared correctly contains functional medicinal properties.
