Cultivation Quick Facts

Grower’s Note: Shiitake cultivation requires patience. Unlike Oyster mushrooms, Shiitake mycelium must undergo a “browning” or “popcorning” phase (where the white block turns brown and bumpy) before it is ready to fruit. This process can take 6 to 10 weeks, but the heavy yields of premium mushrooms are well worth the wait!
